This Cookie Policy explains how Prime Power Fitness uses cookies and similar technologies on www.primepower-fitness.com, which ones are strictly necessary, which ones are optional, and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that a website places in your browser. They allow the site to remember information between pages or visits, such as your language or your cookie choices. Local storage is a similar technology that keeps information in your browser (not on our servers), for example the content of your cart. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (session cookies); others remain for a limited period. Local storage remains until you clear it.
2. How we use them
We group cookies and similar technologies into two types:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to work and to remember your choices. They are always active and do not require consent.
- Optional — functional preferences, analytics and performance, and targeting and advertising. They remain off until you accept them, category by category.
3. Strictly necessary (always on)
Cookies
- authjs.session-token, __Secure-authjs.session-token, authjs.csrf-token, __Host-authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-url — staff sign-in session for the administration area and protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). These cookies are set only when a staff member signs in.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers the language you chose.
- primepower_consent — stores your cookie choices.
- pp_market — remembers the site’s market setting (Canada, Canadian dollars).
- pp_ref, pp_vid, pp_ref_on — set only when you arrive through the link of a Prime Power Fitness ambassador: the ambassador’s code, a random identifier of your browser and a marker that a referral is active. They let us credit your visit, basket and order to the ambassador who recommended us, for the length of the programme (90 days by default). They are not used for advertising and are not shared with third parties.
Local storage
- primepower-cart — keeps the content of your cart.
- theme — remembers your light or dark display preference.
- pp_newsletter — remembers that you closed the newsletter window or that you subscribed, so that it is not shown to you again.
4. Optional (off until you accept)
Functional preferences
Technologies that remember additional preferences to make your visits more convenient. They are used only if you accept this category.
Analytics and performance
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager (when enabled by us) — measure how the site is used (pages visited, traffic sources, performance) so that we can improve it. Data is collected in aggregate form for statistical purposes.
Targeting and advertising
- Meta Pixel (when enabled by us) — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and allows relevant advertising to be shown to you.
- TikTok Pixel (when enabled by us) — measures the effectiveness of our advertising on TikTok and allows relevant advertising to be shown to you.
These tools are provided by third parties that may process data outside Canada and use it under their own privacy policies. They are loaded only if the corresponding category is accepted.
5. Your consent
Cookie banner
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse the optional categories, or choose them one by one. Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies and local storage are used. Visitors in Québec are asked for opt-in consent, and when your region cannot be determined, we apply the strictest regime (no optional cookies without your consent).
Google Consent Mode v2
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Google tags remain in “denied” mode until you consent: in that mode, they do not store analytics or advertising cookies in your browser.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it as a refusal of advertising technologies, which then remain off for your browser. See also our We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information page.
Record of your choices
To demonstrate and respect your consent, we record your choices, the date, a hashed (not raw) version of your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the region detected. These records are kept for 3 years.
6. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page. Your new choice applies from that moment. Withdrawing consent does not affect the use made before the withdrawal; to remove cookies already placed, you can also delete them through your browser settings.
7. Browser controls
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies and clear local storage (often under “site data”). The help section of your browser explains how. If you block or delete strictly necessary cookies or local storage, some features may not work properly: for example, your cart may be emptied or your language choice may be forgotten. Some browsers and extensions also let you send a Global Privacy Control signal automatically.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add or remove a tool. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it again through the cookie banner.
9. Contact us
For any question about cookies or your personal information, write to contact@primepower-fitness.com (subject: “Privacy”) or use our contact page.
